To honor the launch of our curated 2nd edition Calendar of Culture & Weekly Planner 2025, which celebrates the rich cultural traditions of the Top 10 African diaspora nations and also provides space for you to orgainse your schedule, jot down your ideas, journal words of positive affirmation or simply doodle to your hearts content; we invite you to participate in our initiative, 10 Word Story.

Inspired by the 10 nations that we are highlighting in our 2025 planner which includes Brazil, Colombia, Dominica Republic, France, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, UK, USA and Venezuela - where many descendants of enslaved peoples from the Transatlantic Slave Trade now live or call home - our mission is to always connect, converse and create with our community, who are the invisible creatives and authors of so many unheard beautiful stories of the society and wider world they live in.

Using one of our value pillars - Creative, Heritage, Innovative, Love or Ubuntu - as your topic, share with us your original 10 Word Story. The only restriction is that you must use 10 words only. No more, no less. Your story can be:

  • Fact
  • Fiction
  • Fantasy
  • Poetry or other

The trick is in creating a story, that inspires the reader from start to end.

Our chosen panel will select 365 qualifying 10 Word Story submissions to feature in our 3rd edition Calendar of Culture & Weekly Planner 2026. Some of the remaining 10 Word Story qualifying entries will feature in a commissioned art piece (to be ageed at a later date).

Our 10 Word Story initiative is in support of Black History Month (BHM) UK's 2024 theme, Reclaiming Narratives, which asks us to "...take control of our stories, celebrate our heritage, and ensure our voices are heard...".
